In his book Psychics, Crooks and unexplained phenomena Schmidt documents his encounters with mediums, mystics and scam artists. Coming from a background of no-nonsense, hard-nosed investigative journalism, the author looks at claimed phenomena with a jaundiced eye—and still is impressed with some of the incidents experienced in his travels.

Hard-nosed investigative journalism is a specialty of Wolfgang’s. He has been working with print and electronic media, for over 30 years.

Schmidt travelled the world on business and found time to investigate one of his favourite hobbies: Psychic Phenomena.

Semi-retired, he lives on his ranch in British Columbia and travels and lectures for fun.
