About the Book

The Last Year is the story of Jim Barbee's last year in high school. It's the turbulent 60's and-like most of his friends-he's into drinking and partying and the sex scene that goes with it. His brother, who is a Captain in the Air Force and the opposite of the hell raising Jim, comes home and announces that he's in love with a black girl. Jim's falling in love himself and wants no part of his brother's problems. But everything comes together in one explosive "last year." It's the last year Jim Barbee's life will ever be the same.

About the Author

Ronnie D. McLaughlin was born in Tulsa, Ok. in 1948. His parents divorced and his mother remarried in 1953. He attended schools in Oklahoma, Georgia, and Texas. He graduated from Northeastern State Uiversity, Tahlequah, Ok. Now retired, he has owned several businesses. He has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
