About the Book

When artist H.C. Lee arrives in Korea for his army tour of duty, he is assigned the job of painting a generalýs name on baseball bats. To help keep a reasonable prospective on life, occupy time, and maintain his artistic skills, Lee paints war stories as told by combat veterans. Despite the idiosyncrasies of the army, Lee finds his artistic style. However, the road to success is lined with higher ranks who believe Leeýs talent is theirs to command for their personal benefit. Leeýs creativity must extend beyond the canvas to navigate around the black market Master Sergeant and even the top brass of the Department of Army.
