About the Book
Red Reflections is a love and spy story set among the fall of the Soviet Union. Mike, an American attorney and former Navy recon pilot, is falsely implicated in the murder of a Russian defector. The Russian defector has apparent ties to a mafia family in Russia. Mike falls in love with a beautiful, but married young Russian, Anna, he met in Moscow, who comes to the United States to study. Anna is connected to the Russian intelligence community through her husband, Peter. Mike reflects on his affair with Anna and together with Zhuravlov, an FBI agent in counterintelligence, and through the intrigues and revelations discovers that Anna may not be the woman he thought she was. The book is a study of human relationships, betrayal, the search for truth, love and the emerging politics of the United States and Russia following the fall of communism. It is a highly complex and sensual story of hope and betrayal and discovery.
About the Author
Mark A. Moorstein is a lawyer in Manassas, Virginia, who practices corporate, trial and international law. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Temple University Law, wrote for Triangle at Princeton and has written numerous articles, plays and stories. He is an avid pilot and black and white photographer and has developed a keen interest in Russia through his travels. Mr. Moorstein speaks German and some Russian and has participated in the emergence of Russia from communism. Mr. Moorstein attended the Moscow Conference on Law and Economics at the Kremlin in September 1990. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
