About the Author
Joseph A. Mauriello, Jr, MD, elected to Best Doctors of America, is one of 400 oculoplastic surgeons nationally who are board-certified ophthalmologists specializing in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery (eyelid, tear duct, socket, and orbital surgery). Dr. Mauriello dedicates considerable energy to cosmetic eyelid surgery and Botox treatments. Formerly Director of Oculoplastic Surgery at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School at Newark, he was one of the first physicians to use Botox in the New York metropolitan area. He is a national lecturer and has written over 70 scholarly articles in his field, 30 additional book chapters, and two major medical texts with a third in preparation. Dr. Mauriello was honored to be appointed to the Editorial Board of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, the journal of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
