About the Book

Like many who emigrated from Europe after World War II, author Herb Duerr left Germany for Canada in 1951, seeking peace and the possibility of a better life. The Unhyphenated Canuck: Reflections and Confessions of an Opinionated Immigrant traces Duerr's life, beginning with his arrival as an adolescent in his chosen country, and portrays his struggles to mesh into a strange new world and to advance in an unfamiliar, competitive environment.

About the Author

Following twenty-five years of extensive international travel, Herb Duerr, a happily retired marketing executive, quickly transformed into an apprentice gardener, occasional woodsman, aspiring cook, amateur writer, and, above all, enthusiastic grandparent. He lives in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
