About the Book
After leaving a philandering husband in Texas, Patricia McDermont had found serenity but not happiness in the ski town of Vail, Colorado. There, she meets medical oncologist, Jason Jamison, the widowed father of twelve-year-old Brittany whose world centers on ice-skating. As the rink manager, she is impressed with Brittany's talent and helps her enter the world of competitive skating to prepare for the upcoming regional championship.
Patricia is attracted to Jason, but she isn't interested in a committed relationship. Moreover, Brittany doesn't want another woman in her father's life. She misses her mother, who died of ovarian cancer, and wants her father for herself.
When Patricia's husband stalks and terrorizes her, Jason defends her, while her best friend, a Wiccan Priestess, provides her insight and spiritual support. In addition, Patricia supports Jason when a hospital administrator, angry that Jason has built a freestanding clinic, threatens his medical practice. As their relationship grows, they encounter adversity and many challenges.
Will she overcome her stalking, abusive husband? Will he endure the seductive world of ice-skating and the ruthless world of medicine? Will they find happiness?
