Love & Death & Love

About the Book

Expected-the despair,
the sigh and tears and moans
because she has gone where
body is stripped to bones.

Yet?-silliness? laughter?
frivolity? and mirth?-
so scandalous after
that consignment to earth!

But she decrees it! Then,
when I come from above
we are masters again
of joy as well as love.

In revelry, not grief,
she and I will resume,
robbing time, that old thief,
as a new bride and groom.

Born in Philadelphia, August 26, 1917. Lived mostly New York.

Now, companioned in a seniors? residence. Twice widower: son and daughter by first wife; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

M, A, COLUMBIA University, literature & education. Minimal teaching, 20 years with federal government, mostly in private industry. Some painting, sculptures, and stuff.
