About the Author
Born and raised in New York, Daniel W. Kops became Editor in Chief of The Cornell Daily Sun, launching a continuous love affair with journalism. He began his professional career as a newspaper reporter with the Houston Press. He served in the U.S. Air Corp. during World War II, rising to the rank of major. In 1949 he acquired a major interest in WAVZ, a Connecticut radio station, and began a distinguished career in broadcast journalism. A former board member of the National Association of Broadcasters, and Chairman of the Committee on Editorializing, he has served on many local and national boards. He has received numerous awards, including the Connecticut Broadcasters Association?s Distinguished Service Award, the New Haven Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Award, and the Connecticut Jaycees Man of the Year Award. A loyal Cornellian, he has received an honorary degree from Albertus Magnus College and is also a fellow at Saybrook College at Yale University.
He and his wife, Nancy, have three children and seven grandchildren.
