About the Book

Jake Edwards, a moderately successful private detective, has been struggling with the results of a recently concluded case that ended less than perfectly. In addition, he has had a great deal of stress put upon him by an anonymous threat on his life.

Although Jake has a reputation of being a fearless individual, the combination of these two events caused him to drastically curtail his investigating activities–until he receives a phone call from a friend in the police department.

As a result, Jake becomes involved with a difficult client and some very greedy people engaged in what seems to be harmless enterprises, such as the wholesale produce and the restaurant business.

About the Author

A love of detective stories is E.J. Cohen?s motivation for this, his second Jake Edwards novel. His first is titled Lustful Hearts, Evil Deeds. He also authored two sea stories, Periolous Journey and Bumps on Land, Bumps at Sea, based on his adventures in the United States Navy.
