About the Book
High Jinks of a Feckless Youth is the true story of the hilarious antics of the mischievous young Rolla Campbell and his best friend, Red Simms, growing up in West Virginia in the late 1920's and early 1930's.
All through his long and illustrious career as an orthopaedic surgeon while working in Manhattan's Roosevelt Hospital and the Hospital for Special Surgery, his love of merriment and a good joke has tempered his serious profession with fun and laughter. Movie stars, legends from the golfing world and other world celebrities chose him to be their doctor and later became his friends.
Rolla's brother is the highly acclaimed golfer, William Campbell. The Campbell brother's love of golf is reflected in many humorous stories that occurred on and off the course.
About the Author
Rolla Campbell was raised in Huntington, West Virginia in a very close and loving family. His brother, William, became one of golf?s greatest champions.
After attending Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard and the Columbia College of Physician?s and Surgeons, he began his career as an orthopaedic surgeon at Roosevelt Hospital and the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
He was married to Eunice Johnson from 1945 to their divorce in 1977. They had four children.
Dr. Campbell married Kim Kendall Baker in 1979. They currently reside in Hobe Sound, Florida and Fisher?s Island, New York.
