About the Book

Hannah KaReese and her best friend, Tara DeMoss, are just two typical small-town girls. They're preparing to take a ski trip to Colorado when tragedy strikes. KaReese's father has died in a car accident, creating a chain of events that will send these two friends on the adventure of a lifetime.

Tara's father convinces KaReese's mother, Abbey, to take a job with his company, a business that has recently obtained a government grant to study various cultures of the world. Abbey agrees to the assignment and soon KaReese and Tara find themselves on the small Polynesian island of Moorea in the Pacific Ocean. But all is not well in paradise. They are suddenly thrown into an adventure requiring them to risk their lives to save the village of Tiare Fenua from destruction.

The two best friends meet a know-it-all named Zoey and identical twins Kyle and Klay. Together, this group of unlikely adventurers' traverses mosquito-infested jungles, explores deep and dangerous caves, swims in shark-infested waters, and are taken hostage by a group of men who have a secret to protect. Will KaReese and her loyal friends be able to save the village of Tiare Fenua from an ancient prophecy, or will the people of Moorea be lost forever?
