Their mutual infidelities have caused bitterness and pain. When illness strikes their cook's youngest child, the voodoo gods are invoked, but it is a handsome Haitian doctor who weaves his spell over everyone.
About the Author
Carole Cleaver, who grew up in a small northern New Jersey town, lived in Haiti for l4 years. Formerly an editor of Mademoiselle and the Wyckoff (NJ) News, she is the author of SPIRITS OF THE NIGHT: The Vaudun Gods of Haiti, and HORACE PIPPIN, Portrait of the Artist as a Black American. The widow of art critic Selden Rodman, she has two children.
