About the Book

This collection of poems tells the stories of strippers, saints, lawyers, drag queens, aliens and of course, the nude queen of the communist cannibals. It deals with the fraught relationships of men and women and the tender and sad relationships between humans and animals in vivid and original language. These poems are sexy, funny, cutting edge and crazy.

About the Author

B. J. Buhrow is the author of HouseFire: A Collection of Poems published by New Rivers Press in 1992. She has also published poems in numerous journals, including Amelia, Fine Madness, and Blue Unicorn. Her poem To Start was architecturally incorporated into the Midwest Express Center in Milwaukee. She is a recipient of the Wisconsin Arts Board Individual Artist Award and the 1999 Art Futures Fellowship Award Sponsored by Milwaukee County and the Milwaukee Foundation.
