It didn't take long for sparks to fly between Travis Street and his editor, Dallas Clark. She thought him too critical of a well known U.S. Senator, the brother of slain U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
Because the writer had insisted Edward Kennedy was unable to properly analyze events in Santiago, the position so angered Ms. Clark, she told him her company would be unable to publish his novel about Chile' Sept. 11, 1973.
About the Author
Nat Carnes writes political novels about the Caribbean and Latin America. Currently living in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he and his wife, Connie, have been there more than 40 years. Carnes started as a news reporter, mostly with the Associated Press, covering the Caribbean and parts of South America.
