About the Author

John Macchia is president of Advance Turning and Manufacturing, Inc. and, by introducing Lean, significantly increased profits. Macchia is a member of the Jackson Venture Capital Group, as well as having started and sold several other manufacturing businesses.

Don Tapping has spent the last 25 years to eliminate waste in the manufacturing, high tech and medical fields. Tapping directed Lean implementation at Eaton?Aerospace, Schlumberger Technologies, Tyco International and others. Tapping worked mostly with suppliers and their need for Lean information in the job shop and small manufacturing environment.
