His father, who learned only in the "school of hard knocks", did not consider a formal education necessary.
Read of daunting challenges beginning "on the streets" of Wichita, Kansas, his elopement with his first love, Maxine, at the age of eighteen, his struggles to provide for a growing family, Maxine's death at the age of twenty-seven, his dilemma of raising six children alone and having to start his own business on a shoestring, his second marriage, and continuing unreal adventures with wife, Questa.
His pursuit of a successful life culminated in a right relationship with God, financial stability and satisfaction in his old age.
About the Author
James Bertiaum Woods was born May 17, 1919 in Newton, Kansas to Bert F. Woods and Edith (Wilbur) Woods. He grew up in a solid family environment, and soon came to know the importance of hard work. His life of Facing Challenges began when he reached the age of fifteen.
