About the Book
Beyond dim cobblestone streets of Vienna Austria, the intended direction was home, back among those animated beings of Brooklyn New York. Only by way of a fluke did author Omen Kaine dock at the port of a slick shine city by the Bay. Weary from travel and crossing the ocean with a band of high seas antagonist (modern pirates) a restful place was needed to shake the demon addiction. After a brief struggle along side San Francisco's homeless folk, the author falls in with a curious group comprised of maverick painters, fellow writers, edgy film makers, and wistful musicians. At the center of this hybrid tribe is a contemporary family battling AIDS.
As the author literally dwelled beneath the city of San Francisco feverishly battling his addiction, a collection of etchings and paintings developed along with these stories. A manifestation of ghastly hallucinations merged with the language of a lucid dream, so unfolds a space where the bizarre and eerie have become commonplace and the mundane appear uncanny.
"Through that vast celestial playground, past the twisting grape vines on their post in orderly rows, they return from the resting place of the black book. Their long black coats just barely brushing over the dry leaves, they walked in a straight line carrying candle lit lanterns."
Journey with an adolescent boy named Arkin through a realm abundant with visionary surrealism where the intangible suddenly become attainable in a domain full of ancient magic of both a lighter and A Darker Nature.
