About the Book
For centuries, man has sought to see the future. For Billy Garrett and his friends, knowing the future is a curse.
"Which one of you boys is William Garrett?"
"What do you want," I said, breaking every safety rule that my mother ever taught me.
"My name is Mr. Gold. I want to talk to you about what you see." He spoke in a whisper. "You see things, don't you? Special things."
His eyes, hot yellow coals filled with hatred, bored into mine.
"I know what you did," he said. "I know you altered events. You broke the Chain."
I began to shake.
"Do not disrupt the Chain again," Mr. Gold said, moving closer. "Or you will be punished."
To save the world, four young boys will fight to change destiny. To stop an ancient evil, they must learn to break The Chain.
About the Author
Clifton A. Cross was born in Saginaw, Michigan. He has been a musician, actor, salesman, janitor, animator, engraver, waiter and weapons instructor, among other jobs. He now lives in South Carolina with his wife, son, and a varying number of Golden Retrievers. The Chain is his first novel.
