Charlotte Orr Gantz is a retired lawyer and lifelong naturalist. Her fossil collection is featured at Appalachian State University. Her books include Discovering Nature (Scribner?s), A Naturalist in Southern Florida (University of Miami Press), and Boy With Three Names (Houghton Mifflin). She lives in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
