About the Author

Born in Crowborough, Sussex, Mary Rose Hall (pen name) lived in Kenya for over 40 years. She married in 1956 and her two children were born there. After Uhuru she moved down to South Africa with her family. Her father had lived and farmed in Kenya since 1922.
