Con finds the granddaughter but when she dies of a massive drug overdose in Brooklyn, he is hired again to find her killer. The action is salted with memorable characters, from Thelma Herzog, Con¡¯s chain-smoking landlady and amateur assistant, to a flashy pimp who attends AA meetings and works a day job as an electrician. But the most unforgettable is Con himself, an ex-NYPD homicide detective, who prefers to live in a cottage on a peaceful Pine Barrens river but must come to the glitzy gambling mecca of Atlantic City to work as a private investigator.

About the Author

Harris Dulany is the author of three Con Leeds mysteries and of the critically acclaimed Falling, his first novel. He lives in Brooklyn and has been a television writer, most notably for the Emmy Award-winning Bicentennial Minutes on CBS. He is currently at work on a fourth Con Leeds mystery.
