Common wisdom says many marriages start out well, but they soon lose their magic. We even have a cliche' for it: we say the honeymoon is over. As with many complicated subjects, there is more than one layer to this problem. On the most visible layer, the partners in these unions have stopped putting the same high levels of energy into the relationship as they did when they were first married. If we look deeper, we'll see that the relationship is changing, and the partners don't recognize it. They don't see the change because none of us are born knowing how to stay married. We have to learn to stay married.

About the Book
This book is written for married couples by a Marriage & Family Therapist. Its emphasis is that marriage must be an equal partnership and that this has a Biblical basis found in Genesis before the Fall. Men and women are equal in God’s eyes and this equality should be lived out as a partnership in the marriage relationship.
It will also help you understand the reasons why husbands and wives pull apart from each other in their marriages. You will be given practical solutions that will develop successful ways to better understand yourself and your partner. You will be introduced to self talk, family of origin issues, your identity in Christ, behaviors and attitudes that can hurt your marriage relationship, and excellent communication skills and techniques.

Brian Nystrom, MSW, ACSW is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years experience in the mental health field. Additionally, Brian recieved four different Governor appointments to serve on the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy over a span of 16 years. He has been married to Mary Ann for over 30 years and they have four adult children. They own and operate six Christian-based mental health and chemical dependency clinics with over 440 employees.
