About the Book

Called "Little Fera" by a Cherokee woman who was a major part of Hallie's life, this is the story of a young child in the early 1900s who grew up learning secrets of the forest and Cherokee medicines. Follow Hallie's adventures as she becomes an adult and learns that secrets-and magic-can sometimes set you free.

About the Author

Though he did not begin writing until the age of 69, D.H. Caldwell has authored more than ten novels, a children?s story, and several short stories. Retired from manufacturing, he lives in Flat Rock, NC on a farm which he tends himself. He writes almost daily and says writing is a creative endeavor that keeps him young.
