About the Book
These Eleven Years is a memoir of a non-Catholic girl living with her single parent family in Seattle neighborhoods. She attends Catholic school during the 1940's and 1950's and through her Catholic experiences, she becomes a convert.
The emphasis on values, rules and discipline are described. The times and poverty which dictated a way of life are revealed. Experiences of love, friendship, laughter and adventure are laced through each chapter. The elements of urban life in Seattle during the 1940's and the 1950's are described throughout the book.
About the Author
In 1959, Carole Nelson moved from Seattle to Rochester, Minnesota, and worked for IBM for 19 years. Carole still lives in Rochester with husband Dave, six children and ten grandchildren. As a retiree she is Dayzee the Clown, and also volunteers for nature projects in Northern Minnesota.
