About the Author

Chalmers H. Hallman, son of Percy and Sadie Heilman Hallman, was born August 9, 1922, in East Greenville, PA.

He participated in all sports football, baseball, tennis, bowling, and golf. He played the Banjo. He also enjoyed playing pool and basketball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent many weekends dancing at Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown, to the music of Big Name bands, Glenn Miller, Jimmie Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Harry James.

After graduating from East Greenville High School in 1940, Chalmers joined the Navy in 1942. He survived many frightful close calls during his missions. He was the owner of Sup-Erb Brush Company, in Pennsburg, PA. Chalmers died an untimely death September 9, 2001.
