About the Author

Carol Messmer, who holds a master’s degree in counseling, recently retired after twenty-six years in college and high school counseling. She was a recipient of the Colorado Award of Honor for Education and Civic Achievement. Messmer is a parent, stepparent, and grandmother who lives with her husband in Denver, Colorado.
