About the Book

Beginning in Riga, Latvia, during the latter part of the 19th century and extending through the 1930's in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this family memoir provides a unique contribution to histories of Jews in America's heartland.

About the Author

Beatrice Ruth Cohen Rossen (1911?1997) grew up in North Minneapolis, the daughter and granddaughter of founders of many Minneapolis Jewish community institutions. She graduated MacPhail School of Dramatic Arts, taught drama, ran her own fashion business, married medical reformer Dr. Ralph Rossen, raised a family, was a dedicated Buba, worked tirelessly for Hadassah Youth Aliyah, made over a dozen trips to Israel and travelled the world.
