The Civil War has come to an end. The cost was dear for many. A family separated by circumstances in a small coastal town in North Carolina is ruled by a man who has only the desire to possess and control all that he can, including his family. His daughter, who refuses to submit to any man, finds herself deeply attracted to a man she unknowingly shares an unveiled secret with. Neither of them knowing the truth but both are suspicious of the person who had impacted both of their lives forever, Captain Hamilton Randolph II.
About the Author
A native of West Virginia, Ronald Gould has written over 200 poems and enjoys the tranquility of nature. His love of history and the natural beauty of America have provided him with an endless array of topics to address in poetic verse.
Ron was born on July4, 1949. This special date in our history has instilled him a deep sense of patriotic appreciation and has provided the cornerstone for some of his best works in regards to our people, our country and our flag. He has worked in the fields of construction, design and public safety for over 30 years and served as a volunteer fireman and emergency medical technician for more than 20 years in Ohio.
Vision to Embrace is his first published work and he has plans to continue writing with his co-author Dian Outten on their second novel, Vision to Return, to be published in the fall of 2002. Ron also anticipates the publishing of selected poetic works under Parchment Poetry by the end of next year.
Diane was born September 16, 1951 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and moved to upstate New York at an early age. After graduating from Washingtonville High School in 1969 she continued her education and graduated from nursing school in 1973.
Her creative nature was stimulated by her interest in crafts, flower arranging and love of the sea. She moved her family to central Florida in 1986 and developed the idea of stories to promote safety among children as well as adults. Her dedication and upbeat personality kept her focused while working and raising her two sons. Now she has more free time to develop the characters and story line for this venture. Her goal is to complete a series of books that will enhance the interaction of children and parents. Her two grandchildren, Travis and Makayla have kindled the fire and inspired her to continue her dream.
This writing of Vision to Embrace is her first novel and she plans to continue writing on the second book, Vision to Return with her co-author. Diane has traveled extensively and enjoys meeting people all around the country.
