About the Author

The author, Margaret Castle, has led a life at least as adventuresome as her lead character Angela McMillan. In fact, McMillan is an old family name, a Mulatto family traceable all the way back to Algeria eight generations ago. With an undergraduate degree in philosophy, at least half her published work relates to a nontheistic approach to understanding all the different kinds of people one must deal with to have the best of everything.

On three continents she has married, raised a family, succeeded in a career, and lived to tell about it. The second volume of this trilogy is titled High Tails (pun intended). The current volume reveals what it's like to be a Top Producer with a secret—victim of a powerful husband with exotic tastes. The action is nonstop, as rapid fire as the adventures the lady lived. The characters are taken from the glittering skyscrapers of Denver, where she lived and worked, to the twisted unemployed in the ski towns around Aspen, Colorado.

Honing her writing skills at The New York Times Media Co., the author wrote and produced sixty film scripts before dropping out of New York to pursue a 5-state tennis career. It was then that she began to collect the sites and personalities that people her fiction world.

In 1984, Castle was named Top Business Graduate by Denver Business Magazine when she aced a field of 15 candidates for that distinction during her final year of the MBA degree at the University of Denver. Thus began her climb through the top of city center banks and the free-wheeling world of penny stocks. After Black Monday, when the whole market nose-dived, taking brokers and investors alike into crash mode, she resurfaced on the inside of Wall Street—buying and dealing Big Board stocks. The U-turn in this career gave her entrĂ©e to the beef barons and their mistresses, the topless bars and Petroleum club dining rooms of The Marlboro Man himself.

Married now to an Aspen drop-out she describes as James Bond-on-the-Lam, Ms. Castle lives in a tree house on the gold coast of Florida.
