About the Author

Jean Elizabeth Ward has lived equally in the North and the South, has traveled abroad, and her background is as versified as her poetry?which found her as a very young child. She only discovered Japanese Poetry in the recent past, when she retired. Jean calls her poetry Modern and/or Avante Garde as they are not traditional, as she says, ?How can they be Traditional Japanese Poetry, when written by a Modern American Woman??
