A severe chronic disease can debilitate you but also make you stronger. One woman's journey and how she is able to share the things she enjoys most with you, her family and her recipes.

About the Author

Emilia was born and raised in Calabria, Italy. She came to this country at age 26. Emilia married her husband, Peter, who is also from Italy, at the age of 28. Their first son, Alberto, was born in 1972. Married to his wife Kristine, they now have two beautiful daughters, Cara Mia, and Gianna Maria.

Their daughter Silvia was born in 1972 and is now married to her husband Shawn. They have a beautiful son named Anthony Michael.

As a young girl Emilia enjoyed cooking with her mother and now passed that same love to her family. Her recipes have been in her family for many years. Now she is sharing with you her own special taste of Southern Italy, Calabria.

She enjoys embroidery, sewing, knitting, reading and writing.

Her love from her family and God keeps her strong from her disease of asthma.

Her three beautiful grandchildren give Emilia strength and motivation to keep strong faith while living with asthma, and learn more each day what she can about this disease.
