This collection of frank and sincere Christian poems might be described as a spiritual Bridget Jones diary! The poet expresses her intimate conflicts and concerns as she anticipates the eventual consummation of her marriage. Perhaps one of the main values of the collection is that it conveys a message for many young Christians (and older ones too-not just those preparing for marriage!) that the conflicts they experience are absolutely normal-and can be resolved and sanctified in so far as our dwelling place is not an earthly place but the Lord who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. The poet expresses a roller-coaster of emotions as she comes to terms with the age-old conflict of the flesh versus the spirit, the urges of the flesh versus the disciplined life of the Christian, especially as she deals with the anguish where the object of her love is often aloof and inconstant.

About the Author

D E Rollins talks to God as a constant companion, concealing nothing, baring her soul, whether in anguish or joy. As a friend of God she is not afraid to question him, yet is liberal in her praise and love for a God who is always seen as the Provider of needs and blessings, both material and spiritual.
