About the Book
“Haha Eno Jinmon (My Mother’s Interrogation)” is a personal account of events that happened in Japan during World War II when all Japanese citizens with Western ties were under suspicion by the Japanese government. Accused of espionage by the Japanese military police, the author’s mother was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned. The events leading up to this family crisis and the subsequent outcome are portrayed in this compelling story.
About the Author
Mariko Omura was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and suffered through World War II while in her teens. After the war, she married a Japanese-American soldier from Hawaii and became a citizen of the United States. She has been a radio announcer for Tokyo Broadcasting Station (TBS) in Japan and after moving to California has been an owner of a jazz nightclub in Santa Monica. Currently, she promotes world class jazz musician for tours in Japan. She resides in Los Angeles and has two grown sons.
