During the Cold War, Soviet missile trains constantly moved nuclear payloads all over Siberia, preventing their detection by satellites and spy planes. In a new nuclear conflict, a wary US government ignores proliferation treaty requirements, and places fifty warheads at the base of an enormous tunnel structure, extending to the depths of the earth. Out of sight, out of mind.
One of the warheads malfunctions. The radiation risks force a Special Forces team to infiltrate the damaged and abandoned complex. As the make their way through a relic security perimeter, they soon discover that The Bomb is the least of their worries.
About the Author
Joe Mascaro was born outside Detroit, Michigan in 1981. He attends the University of Michigan, where he is currently majoring in Resource Ecology and Management. His novels include this one, and several others currently in limbo.
