About the Book

Every episode in A Scout's Salute is a fresh adventure in pristine outdoor settings, as recreated by author Dennis S. Chapman. There are tales of hikes, pranks, and campouts, of discovering nature's wonders and woodsman's skills, all masterfully told and highly entertaining. They are stories of growth in understanding, often learned the hard way. For instance, in the chapter titled "Brian's Song," we meet Brian, a young man traveling through life with great afflictions, who learns about hiking from scouts, yet teaches a poignant lesson of a father's love. About the Author

DENNIS S. CHAPMAN, a member of a scout troop from Traverse City, Michigan, went on to get his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from Brigham Young University.

Currently, Mr. Chapman is a schoolteacher in Utah, and continues to be active in scouting. An avid mountain climber, the author is also a member of the Utah County Sheriff?s Search and Rescue Team.
