About the Author

Richard Hewitt is a retired businessman. He attended Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore Md., The Southeastern University extension college at Martinsburg West Virginia, and attended and taught at the Wharton School of Business, at the University of Pennsylvania. During his business career he worked for a major oil company for fourteen years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves, and completed pilot training in 1943. He has taught and published several courses in the field of Real Estate appraising, which were approved for classroom instruction in the state of Georgia Real Estate Schools. In his youth he had many unusual experiences living along the New Jersey Coast. He was blown overboard during a water spout, which is a small tornado over water. He sailed, and motored, converted row-boats into sail-boats, swam across the bay. He gathered clams from the muddy bottom of the bay using his bare feet, and gathered oysters from the pilings of the bridges, and piers. He hunted squirrels and rabbits, pheasant, and deer in his early youth, until he realized that there is no joy in killing. He has, over the years, developed a very deep sense of discernment from the observation of the human condition, witnessing the raw needs of so many. He is married and has two children, and four grand-children. He has published two other books with iUniverse.com, The Right Course vs. What?s Left, and The Practical Answer.
