About the Book

Set in conquered Saxon Britain, the population resentfully accepts their Norman masters. Amid the hate and despair, a young Norman knight is given a manor and lands for services rendered to the King on the battlefield. But when he attempts to claim what is rightfully his, he is implaccably opposed by the beautiful but warlike former Lady of the Manor.

Their battle for dominance is carried out in the harsh and cruel times immediately following the conquest.

About the Author

Philip Ordinaire, whose parents were Anglo-Norman from the Channel Islands, is a retired printer now living in St. Albans, England.

His childhood was spent in the Channel Islands, hence his interest in Norman history.
