About the Author

Laurie Schaefer is an English and Latin teacher in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was nominated as the Teacher of the Year in 1999 and the Winston-Salem Jaycee's Outstanding Young Educator of the Year in 2000. Ms. Schaefer looks forward to a long future in teaching.
