About the Book

"It's the future. How far into the future you ask?" Not very far according to Jay Hess, narrator of Sara Smile. Jay lives in a world where violence is the norm. People have stratified according to minute social and political beliefs. Dissention is everywhere. Into the middle of the mess surrounding Jay Hess walks young Sara, a teenage actress who captures Jay's heart with her voice, her mind, and her body. When Sara loses her parents to the everyday random violence prevalent in Jay's world, she moves in with Jay. A torrid love affair develops quickly. Jay's Christian faith, which he has always kept to himself to avoid violence, is rivaled by his devotion toward Sara.

Joe Salerno has written and produced musicals and one-act comedies. In addition, he has written for The Professor Einy Show, and for Long Island Entertainment. Joe is a librarian from Long Island. He hopes Sara will both delight and dismay.
