About the Book

River Runner Jay Young led his new bride, Rachel Waters, into the Crack, a Canadian whitewater deathtrap. During the time period immediately following the accident, Jay experiences overwhelming grief and wanders around Western Canada in a drunken stupor for nearly two years before migrating south and landing in the Ashton, Idaho jail drunk tank. Two old friends find him, bail him out, and start him on the road to recovery.

Alex Winston meets Jay on a Great Lakes sea kayak adventure in Lake Superior's beautiful Apostle Islands. She finds him to be attractive, mysterious, and tormented, and decides that she will do whatever it takes to deliver him from his guilt and fear.
