About the Author

Hale Humphrey-Jones, Ph.D, LPCMH, NCGC, has a full-time private practice, providing counseling for individuals and couples. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health in the State of DE and a nationally certified gambling counselor. She works with individuals and couples who are coping with gambling issues, and provides training for the DE Council on Gambling Problems. She has also presented to the National Conference on Problem Gambling and to the National Forensic Counselor’s Association. Other books written by Dr. Humphrey-Jones include: This Must Be Hell: a look at pathological gambling, 1998, and 2001, The Bad Girls’ Club, 2001, Con Man, 2004, One More Time: The gambler’s mantra, 2005, and Crossing the Line: when gambler’s turn to crime, 2008. Dr. Humphrey-Jones teaches psychology and communication at Wilmington University and Wesley College. She holds two master’s degrees, one in counseling psychology and one in communication, as well as a Ph.D. in family studies.
