About the Book
My twelve uncles who played important but unknown roles in history. Usually unpredictable, often zany, they reflect life in the Thirties and Forties. They included spies and Senators; communists and conmen; magicians and marathoners; sportsmen and soldiers. Most of them came to unexpected ends.
About the Author
Growing up in Atlanta, the author spent three years in the US Air Force, two of them in the CBI. He went to (then) Palestine in 1947. He and his wife, Frieda, lived in Jerusalem throughout the siege of that city, and he became a Lt. Colonel in the Israel Airforce. He has a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh; MSSA from Western Reserve; and Ph.D. from Brandeis University. He is Emeritus Professor at the Hebew University and the author of twelve professional social work books. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife, four children and eleven grandchildren.
