About the Author

David Hellerstein, M.D., is a doctor and writer in New York City. His work has been praised by Tobias Wolff, Richard Selzer and Sherwin Nuland, and has appeared in magazines including The New York Times Magazine, Harper's, Esquire, Fiction and North American Review. His other books include Battles of Life and Death (essays), A Family of Doctors (memoir), and Stone Babies (novel).
