About the Book

Here are five stage ready plays, four of which have been produced. Two comedies, one bedroom farce and the other a hotel farce, are sure to make the modern reader laugh. "Ti Jean", a literary docu-drama about the King of the Beats will interest aspiring writers as well as dharma bums. Intrigue and irony carry the action in the radio play "Frolic of Others", about the shady world of espionage. All selections in this book offer actors excellent practice material. Directors will be interested in a new spin on dramatic story telling.

"The drama [Ti Jean] succeeds in bringing the style and substance of Jack Kerouac's life and writings to the stage."
--Michael Caiati
Tucson Weekly Aug ' 92

"Original plays pop up frequently at a.k.a. Theatre, and "Ti Jean" ranks as one of the most satisfying premiers in the company's six year history. Jenkyns has created a stimulating and provacative piece of Beat theatre."
--M. Scot Skinner
The Arizona Daily Star 20 Aug ' 92
