About the Book

These poems will take you on a journey from the Midwest to Carribbean reefs, to Amazonian rainforests, with side trips inside the mind of Linda Kinkel and perhaps, yourself. You will experience a connectedness between yourself and all manners of nature.

About the Author

Born in Chicago, Linda now lives 50 miles to its west, barely ahead of suburban sprawl. She holds a Ph.D. in biology, specifically in avian behavioral ecology. Since her childhood, she has felt connected with the natural world. She has traveled widely and some of the poems in this presentation reflect such travels.

She has taught at Illinois Math and Science Academy, Northern Illinois University, as well as elsewhere. Among her many publications are essays in the North American Review and The Chicago Tribune.

In 1990, Linda was one of 10 recipients of an environmental and engineering fellowship from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
