About the Book

It is 1889, and after two years of living in fear, Calli Harper is adamant about getting to Texas, finding whatever family she has left, and a place she can call home. Her hopes, some money, and two good friends is all she has left, but it is enough for her. Norris Dalton, an estranged member of the notorious Dalton Gang, seeks refuge in a saloon in Kentucky, where he is reunited with Tom, a friend who is committed in helping Calli reach her destination. Dalton is persuaded to make an effort at honest living and guide them to Texas.

After months of hardships, their journey finally comes to an end. Lying on what could be her death bed, Calli clings to life, and Dalton realizes he is the one who put her there. During what began as a search for a new life, the outlaw finds life and love in her and himself. Through endless miles across Indian territory, the outlaw and the lady finally reach their destination, only to discover their true destiny is each other.
