About the Book
Alec Whittle's poetry reminds us of the potential beauty in language as well as the earth we all share. Whether clothed in the ragged songs of despair ("At 17th Street") or celebrating the extraordinary moments in life ("Thursday"), Breakfast on earth inspires one to look at the world with a fresh perspective. Exploring everything from war to love and beyond the gates, we discover a delightful grace as well as a simple, powerful, un-refined left hook, certain to find your chin, your heart, and your sense of humor. Whittle has been told he is "A good listener", which is apparent in all of the wonderful shapes and colors he has drawn in this, his first book of poetry.
"A unique and interesting style, which is quite promising."
—K. Oyesiku
