The daughter of a glamorous film star, Sarah Castle, had always been single-minded as a career woman, determined to be as successful in her profession as her mother had been in hers.

In spite of this, she was shattered when she received the news that Simon Dowling was to marry another woman for she could not envisage him belonging to anyone else but her.

And she had no one to blame but herself. She and Simon had been lovers and he had wanted to make their relationship permanent. His new job, however, took him to a distant part of the country and Sarah had been offered a wonderful position on a large syndicate newspaper chain.

Torn between her love for Simon and her ambitions for the job she had always wanted, she chose her career. Subsequently having had to shake off other suitors and suffering a number of reversals, she realized her mistake the hard way.

Adam Bailey , who is distantly related to Charles Rolls of Rolls Royce fame, is English by birth. Now, he lives not many miles from Plymouth Hoe in Devonshire. He has been a journalist and an actor and has some radio and television appearances to his credit.
