Katherine O’Neil’s Cards, Cocktails and Chemo is a book about healing—not only from life-threatening cancer, but also about healing from the addictions which have plagued her family for generations. When hearing the news of her impending death, the main character succumbs to her temptations and learns the hard way that this is just another cancer that has to be put in remission. Direct, funny and honest, Ms. O’Neil takes us along on her quest to heal, both body and soul.
About the Author
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Katherine O’Neil received a B.A. in English from D’Youville College. She relocated to Las Vegas and attended the graduate playwriting program at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. In February of 1999 she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and her prognosis was grim. After a year of highly toxic chemotherapy she was unexpectedly pronounced cancer free. Today she lives in Seattle with her husband and son.
